The Search For the Perfect Cowboy Hat
The Search For the Perfect Cowboy Hat
Posted by Roger Bailey on 12/17/2010
Cowboy hats never go out of style. When you wear them correctly they will always work as a fashion accessory. It is important to choose the right hat in order to pull off the look, however.

The first thing that will make sure the cowboy hat works is if you choose the right size. If the hat sits too high you will look like you have a big head. If it sits too low it will cover your face and won’t be very beneficial.

A good way to choose the right size is to measure your head. Use a measuring tape to measure around your head’s crown. You could also use a piece of string and then compare it to a straight ruler.

You also want to find a hat that works for you. What are you mainly going to be using it for? Are you looking for a nice working hat? Or are you hoping for one just as an accessory?

Color is also an important factor. Certain colors will be harder to match with outfits than other colors. Neutral colors are the easiest colors to match, but adding a fun splash of color like red can also be a fun touch.

There are certain styles of cowboy hats that are generally outlawed with fashion. Certain prints, like zebra or leopard print and bright, neon colored hats are not very classy accessories to wear in every-day use. The only time these would be seen as acceptable is during costume parties or Halloween.

Before you purchase the hat you also want to be sure that it is a high quality hat. When you wear a cowboy hat it will be the center of attention. You don’t want to wear one that is frayed or falling apart because it will automatically draw attention, and not in a good way.

Cowboy hats are wonderful fashion accessories. You can pair them with jeans, dresses, or even suits. They even come in handy when you are having a bad hair day. So take advantage of your western wear store and go check out some hats today.
